Another question what is SCR? SCR is short for Selective Catalyst Reduction or in laymen's terms, synthetic urea injected in the exhaust stream. New diesel pickups are using the same system along with on-road diesel trucks (semi tractors). With this system, the engine does not need any emission components until after the turbo charger. The goal is to clean the air after the engine produces the power it needs to be productive.

A question has come up, what is Tier 4?? Tier 4 is an emission regulation mandated by the US Enviromental Protection Agency and is also compliant with Western Europe. Tractors being produced today will have the equivalent emissions as 1/100 of a pre-emissions tractor built in the early 1990s!!!
