the SM57 sounds way way way better to me. There's no way I'd want that MD421 sound in the mix. Far too scoopy and bassy. The 57 brings out what a rectifier should sound like, if you ask me. Aggressive, able to cut through the mix, and has that top end snap. SM57 all the way
