I had written a huge message about this, but it was lost, so I will just give the key points:

I haven't watched the series, but the book is awesome. It's difficult to find it (before the series) as it's very old, I only have one because I found an old edition abandoned. Never heard of Kindle? I suggest you go there, download the kindle software (PC or MAC) and then buy the book. It's easy if you follow their instructions and it's worth it, e-books are generally quite cheap and the Kindle format is very nice for reading, way better than PDF. If you like the format, I suggest you do some research and think of buying the Kindle hardware, which is AWESOME. With it, you can read all the English e-books from amazon as if reading a real book.
