Sorry to disappoint but as you probably do realise Gary Moore was not English. He was born in Belfast Northern Ireland. Not sure he fucked them up either Eric bell before lost the plot as did Robertson. Moore came and went and probably had too big an ego to stay in Lizzy for anytime.

Simply the most underrated rock band on the plant. Phil like so many others pressed the self destruct button In the early 70's their live act was years ahead of its time. Phil could play the crowd better than anyone I have seen.

Guys... just making a cheap point that Phil's father wasn't Brazilian as reported elsewhere. He may have been born in England but I know he was Irish through and through.

@Hozros ...... Phil is considered by one and all as Irish... however he was born in England to an Irish mother and a Guyanese father. Some say Brazilian Phils mother says he was Guyanese and I guess that she might know even though he just past through.

Probably the best line up ........ but I think Gary Moore was a better guitarist than Robertson just that for various reasons he could never stick it for more than 5 minutes. If he had stayed he would have the right be be considered as part of the best line up. Lizzy invented twin guitar play.

Sykes was by no means the worst guitarist in Lizzy... problem is on their day Lizzy had some of the best Bell, Moore, Robertson and Gorham to name 4 others. Start with Snowy White it just wasn't him. Dont think you can beat the Live and Dangerous version with Robertson and Gorham but if you havent seen One Night in Dublin check it out for Moore and Robertson and bear in mind this is 30 years plus down the road. Moore cant sing for his life but Christ this song was written for his playing.

as said elsewhere good that they keep the music alive and even more if Downey has rejoined them but without Lynott they will never be Lizzy. He was everything that made them what they where.
