The arrangement is not so strange if you were around jazz music in the mid-1960's. This kind of arrangement, if not exactly the quietest, was used in much of bossa nova, especially the bossa nova recorded in the U. S. Brassy jazz arrangements are very American.

This is what life was like the year I was born. I find it fascinating and eerie that Paul Douglas, a great actor and star, died on the same day I was born. A passing of the baton, if you will.

This is from "Four Parts", a brilliant Charley Chase comedy in which he plays four roles and, unlike most twin or triplet comedies, the characters are pretty equally fleshed out, which makes the comedy that much funnier.

Bugs' crazy dance was a reference to Danny Kaye and his patter songs, which were very popular at the time. Daffy Duck did the same thing in one of his cartoons, too.

You forgot to include Eve Arden in your list of stars. That was her after John Wayne.

Just when I thought Brazilian music couldn't get better! This blows away much of where a lot of American music was at this time. I hope more and more Americans realize that people who don't come from the U. S. and U. K.. can innovate and be a leader in inventing new musical styles.
