I think it's good you had your trans flush. I've had customers in a couple cases with transmissions they thought were good as gone and they had nasty dark brown trans fluid and they were lucky enough that a trans flush was all they needed and the vehicle was shifting better afterwards.

compression creates more sensible heat by focusing all of the btus of heat into a smaller volume increasing the temperature. It's not friction generating the heat.

I noticed those heads are very clean. Were those heads milled? At ford we're not suppose to mill 6.0L heads since they claim the valves will potentially strike against the piston

That sucks man. My wife has the same motor in her camry and it has been a great motor for her besides some oil leaks. Hopefully it wont be to costly to fix. That should be a pretty easy motor to find at a salvage yard if you're comfortable doing that kind of work

ohming out your spark plug wires isn't going to help you discover if the insulation is failing. I think that was the purpose of this test.

My spark plug gap was like that when I pulled them out of my ranger at a 150,000 miles. I made sure I bought platinum plugs to replace them because it sucked to replace them on the 2.5L 4cylinder motor.
