Teams of students from top Film and Communications programs in North America, China, and Europe set out to report fresher Cannes Film Festival stories than the 4,300 accredited journalists who attended in 2009. Equipped with Flip Ultra HD's, the American Pavilion intern teams had to upload one video each day per team. And win the audience's vote.
The American Pavilion is a twenty-one year partner of the Cannes Film Festival and the largest pavilion in the international tent village where most film boards exhibit. It is the business and social hub for US participants. It selects 150 qualified students to intern each year. Beginning with Cannes 2009, interns had a unique chance to show off their talent in a time limited competition.
