kind of funny that you guys are ripping into U2 here. Especially since Mark Burgess is actually a fan of them. Both were great bands back when they were in their prime. And the whole "U2 sold out after the Joshua Tree" argument is getting really tired, considering their next two albums, Achtung B...

very under-rated album. Put off listening to anything from it other than creep for a very long time. Still not as good as the bends or OK computer, but an excellent debut all the same, and way ahead of most of their contemporaries

Used to hate Oasis so much as a blur fan. Then I actually sat down and listened to this album and it definitely changed my outlook. Great album.

Just when you think you've heard every U2 song there is, you stumble on a gem like this. This is why they've been my favourite band since I started listening to music. hell, they were the ones to get me into music in the first place.

man, of all the U2 albums I've listened to, this is the one which has grown on me the most. Doesn't have the immediacy of War, J.T., or Achtung baby, but its almost dream-like in terms of melodies. Great debut and a great song.

I like Muse. I think they're talented. I also think they're hacks. I can pretty much guarantee that they'll never release an album anywhere near as good or influential as the Bends or OK computer.

a real testament to U2's stunning body of work. I've been a huge fan of theirs for as long as I've been into music, and it still amazes me how brilliant their more obscure songs are.
