This is a very fair competion, there really not that far apart in age or horsepower, it is a 1999-01 ranger(117 hp) vs 1986-93 s-10 (125hp) . so could only be 6 years apart and s-10 is rated at more hp

is it a sleeper because you were getting ready to back underneath the in bed camper?

Please do not buy any BMW, Volkswagon, Audi, or Mercedes for under a $1000 unless you know AND are ok with the FACT that these cars cost more to do scheduled maintenance(Oil change, air filter replacement, brakes, etc) and much much more for any repairs. Otherwise you will be complaining, whini...
