I figured out rather late in life that I liked to sing. I chose to play the flute in middle school bc I didn't know then that I would eventually turn into a singer (should've picked up a guitar or piano)! I was 21 years old and was asked to sing a solo in a traveling Christmas choir. After that, I started to sing more and more...karaoke parties, in church, talent shows. It was kind of off and on and I never really had the full blown confidence to sing in front of others even though I got some good feedback from those who heard me sing. A few years later I gained more confidence and started auditioning for things such as singing the national anthem at a big basketball game or Star Search (remember that show?). Life has kind of gotten busy for me and now I'm a mom of 2, which makes it a lot harder to publicly sing and promote myself. I sing at weddings, church, talent shows, local fairs, events...and was even lucky enough to open for one of the Osmond boys at a local ampitheater (talk about being thrown into the lion's den! But it was a great learning experience for me). Recently I've tried to promote myself a bit more because I want to sing as much as I can since I love it so much, even though it's tough to make the time to do it now that I'm mainly a mom! I thought I'd start a youtube channel and upload some of my music. My current goal is to try and master a few songs on guitar so I don't always have to rely on an instrumental track for performances. My big regret in life is that I don't play the guitar well. I took one class in college but that was it. I'd love to find the time to really master it well enough to allow me to sing at more "acoustic" nights at local restaurants, etc. I hope you like my videos!!! I'd love to hear your feedback! I'm such a perfectionist and definitely my worst critic. Always looking for ways to improve.
