hi, is the moongel underneath the snare wires with the wires on top of it, or is it sitting over the top of the wires, also in the centre of the snares ? cheers

Your right they dont make them like this anymore, there are a lot of fantasic technical drummers but this was a certain era when there was an amazing type of swing and grove and everyone was a snare drum master. i AGREE I have always been a bg fan of Steve Gadd, but I have to say that Dave has some special fluid beauty. Steve is amazing but I have to give Dave that top spot. truly inspirational.
