105 Your word is like a lamp that shows me the way. It is like a light that guides me.
106 I have taken an oath. I have promised to follow your laws, because they are right.
107 I have suffered very much. Lord, keep me alive as you have promised.
108 Lord, accept the praise I freely give you. Teach me your laws.
109 I keep putting my life in danger. But I won't forget to obey your law.
Psalm 119;105-109
In absence to the scriptures we find what is known as;
'the sinners prayer.' Some might be familiar with this modern idea when the jingle is sung to the tune of
"Lord Jesus, I need You. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of the throne of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be."
"a great cataract of nonsense"
[a term c.s lewis used to describe the cognitive reasoning assimilated with a person who mistakes 'false doctine' for truth based upon what he/she has come to the conclusion of within his/her own mind.
*Instead, ALL who worship the true god should first discern conversion practices from Scriptures]
ex;
37 When the people heard this, their hearts were filled with shame. They said to Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what will we do?"
38 Peter replied, "All of you must turn away from your sins and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then your sins will be forgiven. You will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 2;37-38
Examining the text we find that asking Jesus into your heart is artificial when in light of the infallible word of GOD. To be quite honest nowhere in the bible is the preaching of;
accepting GOD into your heart taught.
changing your mind about your sins, turning from your sins, and believing in Jesus Christ. These methods are sound, and biblical
14After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. 15"The time has come," he said. "The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!"
Mark 1;14-15
SO we are called to repent of our sins. I assure you that i do not want to confuse anyone who might otherwise state "salvation is a gift from God, and cannot be earned by good deeds." Although this person has taken in solas gratis he has misunderstood the call by Jesus himself to repent while believing "the good news"
because who ever speaks that grace alone is a gift from god unless, any man should boast is infact correct. While this statement is true it is important for me to point out your flawed logic, and understanding. Because all good works a christian is involved in after he/she has been grated salvation from GOD through Jesus Christ who was crucified for the trangressions of our sins is not counted as good works but merely the lifestyle of a christian.
Repenting of your sins isn't good works that enable you to enter through the gates of praise. Repenting of your sins is a byproduct of faith. What i'm simply saying to you is this;
you begin to repent because you are a new creation in Christ and become sensitive to sin.
17Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
2 Corinthians 5:17
3We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. 4The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5But if anyone obeys his word, God's love[a] is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: 6Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.
1 John 2:3-6
26As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.
James 2;26
Misinterpretations, misconceptions, and unbibilical opionions derived from thoughts that do not conform to the LORDs instructions are dangerous, and are symptoms of a rebellious mind that is hostile toward GOD.
