In 1992, three friends in the cable industry came together to do something about HIV/AIDS, the disease that was ravaging their community of colleagues and friends. They realized they were a part of an industry that had the power and resources to spread lifesaving education and awareness messages about HIV/AIDS. Now, over 16 years later, Cable Positive is working hard to achieve its goal of mobilizing the talents, resources, access, and influence of the cable and telecommunications industry to raise HIV/AIDS awareness, to support HIV/AIDS education, prevention and care, and to end the stigma surrounding the disease by creating a more compassionate climate for those whose lives have been affected by HIV/AIDS.
