Charlie Bowman-the farmer-turned-musician was one of the pioneers who helped shape and develop a vital American musical genre, country music. Bowman was acquainted with many musical luminaries of that colorful era, including the legendary Carter Family. I am his great grandson join me here on youtube as I try to preserve his legacy. This site is a tribute to Charlie Bowman, Elbert Bowman, Walter Bowman, Argil Bowman, Jennie and Pauline Bowman (The Bowman Sisters), Billy Bowman (steel guitar), and also to my grampa (Jasper Bowman) who inspired me to play music more than anyone. This is a family site and any input or videos from family are most welcome!
Enjoy these new "Hillbillies" / Charlie Bowman videos from 1926-1927. Used old family photos and overdubbed the music. It's good to have CHarlie and the boys on youtube!!!
Im a huge music fan...I like pretty much all types of music. Lately I've been listening to alot of Del McCoury and Tony Rice's stuff. I also enjoy Alison Krauss and Union Station the list goes on and on as far as Bluegrass goes. I love old acoustic blues, really enjoy folk music or anything that has a message and a story to tell!
I'm also a big classic rock fan i like The Beatles, The Stones, Lou Reed, The Beach Boys, Jackson Browne, Steely Dan...and most recently been enjoying Furthur!
I've added a few videos recently of my own if youd like to check them out...Should be uploading more soon...Thanks alot for visiting my channel...Hope you found some music you liked.

Hey everyone! Just an update as we enter an new year...Already one month into 2011 and the winter sure has been long and cold here in PA...Things are happening here in Middletown with the Art and Music scene...MAAC is expanding and has opened a recording studio...I've been invited to record there and with a little help from my friends will try to do so sometime this year. The band that i had invisioned in 2002 (Cabin) and then again in 2006 (Space Cabin) is now "The Cabin Project"...We had out our first time playing for an audience in January...Everyone involved seems to be intrigued by the possibilities of a minimalist approach to the music, which is what im into right now. Ive uploaded 5 of the videos we took that night. Check em out if you like!
Looking to create some more Hillbilly's/ Al Hopkins/Charlie Bowman/Bucklebusters videos this year...Been amazed at the response the music has gotten here on youtube! Thanks so much for all your comments on the videos ive shared...Im sure Al, Charlie, John, Elbert, and the rest of the fellas would be really proud that people still loved Old Time American music all these years later!
Thanks so much for sharing all of your videos with me and the subscriptions, friend adds etc...Met alot of really interesting and talented people here over the past year or so!
Hope you all have an amazng 2011! God Bless!
