Hip-Hop artist Judicial born Martin Dwayne Francis, was born March 11, 1990 in St. Thomas of the U.S.V.I. His hard hitting vocals combined with his captivating lyrics and unusually intricate beats are drawing average audiences of approximately 100 people per show. He is attracting great reviews from the media including airplay on local radio stations such as Hot 107.9 in Atlanta and 105 Jamz in the Virgin Islands. Judicial's growth has already exceeded his potential output with his three previously released mixtapes, one which has been solo.
Judicial is now finishing up his fourth but second solo mixtape entitled "Over the Top." He has done shows locally and abroad also opening up for artist all over the United States such as Dj Diamond Kuts at Shampoo Night Club in Philadelphia and Pleasure P at the West Virginia Multi-Fest (2009). Judicial will be featured in the March 2011 issue of XXL, the freestyle segment on MTV's Sucker Free Sunday, and he's getting ready to embark on a college tour in the south eastern region of the United States.
At age four, he moved to Orlando, FL where he picked up rapping as a past time. "I started rapping with friends to consume time and stay away from the troubled neighborhoods surrounding us; my original aim was to play basketball and see where that would take me, but then music grew on me in a way I never would expect."
Inspired by artists such as LL Cool J, Jay-Z, Tupac, Biggie, No Limit Soldiers and the dynamic duo 8 Ball and MJG; Judicial developed his very own style. "I respected the grind of these artists and the stories they would tell were captivating, inspiring, and none the less exciting to listen to. I took it upon myself to tell my own story. I wanted to be heard. I knew someone would be able to relate. Whose to say my story can't help others find their path and role in life."
In 2004, Judicial moved to Atlanta, Georgia where he then started pursuing music. When asked why he didn't pursue music sooner, Judicial responded, "Timing is everything. You come out unprepared and this game it will swallow you whole just like any other. So after I jab a few times and figure out my opponent, I don't want to follow up with another jab; I want to throw consistent haymakers and end with an uppercut, you know? (if you understand what I'm saying). In English, I just took the time to perfect my craft so when my music gets out to the public my fans will be able to vibe and expect nothing but the best."
With his older brother behind bars, Judicial has assumed responsibility as the oldest male in his home, causing him to stay focused and grounded. Look out for Judicial and the Hometeam (his street team) or you will be hit...HARD!
