The Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (BVMs) are a community of Catholic women religious who, in response to a personal call from God, have chosen a vowed life of prayer, ministry and community. In response to this call, the BVMs express their mission in service to Gods people. We do this today in a variety of ministries that include being educators, advocates for the elderly and underprivileged, hospital and hospice chaplains, prison and parish ministers, and spiritual guides. Currently we minister in more than twenty states and three foreign countries.

Sr. Frances Dolan was my chorus teacher and voice instructor during my junior and senior years at Carmel High School for Girls in Mundelein, IL I was a member of her travelling troupe "Carmelaires" (sp?). Sr. Frances will never know what a blessing she was and is in my life. I carry her in my mind so often. She is a remarkable woman. I am blessed to have known her.

We will be praying for all of you in Postville as this anniversary approaches. I've posted several of the videos in my favorites and will tell our sisters about them.
