Had no clue how brilliant this woman was until receiving the "Back to Black" CD at Christmas. What a consummate artist -- wish I would have known and appreciated her during her life. Without a doubt, though, she will live on forever in her haunting, wondrous music.

This reminds me eerily of Michael Jackson's drug-slurred words. God bless them both. They left us with art of the highest order that will never die, nor will their memories.

All this debate about whose voice was better (Garland or Streisand) gets so tiresome. They're both treasures. Personally, I think Judy had that undefinable "something" that put her far ahead of anyone as a film/stage entertainer -- Streisand included.

Her voice wasn't classically "pretty" -- but it was certainly beautiful, and no one sang w/as much heart and soul. I feel like I could cry every time I hear her. She will always OWN this song.
