ATTN: Due to copyright issues the original video was taken down. This is the updated version with the original audio -Lullaby by The Cure- swapped. Nevertheless the concept of this video remains the same. It quite possibly has more undertones with the new song: Predator (Collide Remix) by Front Line Assembly. If you are interested in the preliminary version contact me.

Time is a lion, swallowing treasured moments & dreams. One has to act fast & live fast to beat it. It takes a certain constitution to tame that beast & freeze the process. Similarly to thwart the upstream of shite (ha) life brings, one would have to have a tactic of endurance. With fervor like Kyo's -which allows him to draw attention to the big picture, to thrash out and purge- he could get over ails every time he takes the stage. One would think with this the natural following is extortion of self -and those that understand the prescription- to glory. But that's a romantic theory. At least Kyo accomplishes an image of being burnished by invincibility like a hungry lion on stage and that says something about his ability more than it does his character. Though if you know anything about Kyo's history it's that he was mindful of self betterment & dignity even at an early age, it's almost incidental that he be where he is today, with enough guts to open up his world & scratch at our psyche with a challenging question to propriety. Whatever his intentions -ideal or pragmatic- it still sets a standard of achievement, in a way lending us over to the possibility of slaying whatever predators -more emotional than physical- await us. It incorporates a positive drive toward betterment in my conscience anyway and to be quite honest I've never seen an artist more impassioned, diverse and aware. By all means if you know one more unabated in skill, lead me to him/her.
Anyway this man's hypnotic ministrations give the illusion of alarming power, do they not? The musical cacophony is reflected in performance, that's a promise with Kyo. On stage he's hawklike, stopping people in their tracks, swooping down, tearing flesh open where he (and we) are most vulnerable and releasing the fruit he collects into a slow cooking boil with which he can study, sip and chew on. Others can literally stare into it to see the darker parts of nature reflected. He knows the pressure points, how to invoke in the 1000s. He's domineering because of keen intuition, though I doubt he'd admit to it. Being an artist who relies on subjectivity, insight and the response of his listeners he has a very social/emotional job. The cup must runneth over. It might allow him to tap into something the more logical parts of us find hard to attune to. Like Odysseus to the siren's, he shaves down civilized parts of himself that some people are too rigidly attached to and it's this that gets him to a point where he is passive enough to be taken by the music to some hyper state of awareness, no doubt. Hell, it's enough to surmount razor blade kisses, yes?
Personally, when I sing I use different parts of myself that I normally store away while doing menial everyday tasks, there's a sense of activating deeper empirical capacities. It's pure, like the sensibility animals have so that they may pick up on sounds we do not etc. Perhaps for Kyo every moment on stage is one of affirmation because he gives his entire being voice, thus everything amplifies. I'm just cantering here but I am sure technicalities are inconsequential. I doubt it matters what is sung or what we hear, really, it's all in the 'doing' for Kyo. Such that if put to any music Kyo appears to fit, to manipulate time signature & frame. This became increasingly clear when I swapped songs for this vid. Most tunes instantly sync to the live footage. For a second I was fooled it all came out of Kyo, he seemed more 'the music' than being put to it, some people just connect, whether they want to or not. ^^;
I try not to paint Kyo or anyone else the colour I want. I don't arrange a person in vain composition; the mindless, repetitious lullaby we sing for ourselves. I think there's justice in understanding Kyo as he is, not for what he is. See complexity outside your iris, know we are all more than what we appear to be. When I tire of people, I like to pretend we are all endangered species so value isn't lost on me. Or like, we're all our own sonnets with our own hungry progression. XD Perhaps the real predator is ignorance; sing along to the song but feed your own hunger and not the beast's unless you want your fingers or other much needed parts nipped off! ;)
COLOSSAL BLAB. YEAH. GUESS WHO HASN'T SLEPT FOR OVER 24HRS? ZOOM! I was excited to re-upload this video, obviously, coherency be damned! XD
Note: I wanted the video to have a nostalgic/vintage feel. Alas, the sharpened edges and film grain do not appear as pronounced as they really are. Youtube is working against me (you don't know how true this is *cough*)! ^^;
(less info)

Ah yes I have seen them 4 times, they were really amazing. they are truly the greatest band onstage.
Ah thats awesome! I dont know if he smiled at "my" lives since I was often too squished between tall dudes to see anything but Kyos hair. But I did noticed Toshiya smiling and blowing air kisses which made the whole audience (of course) go happy :D
