I think of this piece in the same light as Brahms' Serenade No. 1; yes, it's a bit immature, but hold onto your hats for what follows! I love this piece as a promissory note for both symphonies, "Cockaigne", tha violin concerto, etc. SEMPRE VIVA ELGAR!
