Born and raised in Jakarta on April 14th , 1981.Nikita Dompas began his serious guitar lesson at the age of 17 when he took his first jazz guitar lesson with Oele Patiselano (marvelous jazz guitarist in Indonesia) and later on with Ahmad Ananda in Jakarta. And also with Guenter Weiss , Hideaki Tokunaga, John Stowell, and Max Zentawer.

And by 25 ( 2006 ), Nikita earned his Bachelor Degree majoring in Performance from Insitut Musik Daya and continue his career as a performer and also as an educator.

Nikita Dompas has performed and recorded with various musicians and singers, including :

Tomorrow People Ensemble, Nayamul,Tao Kombo Collective Messkeepers, Barry Likumahuwa Project,Opus 3 Big Band, Ricky Lionardy Big Band, IMD Ensemble,Daya Big Band conducted by Tjut Nyak Deviana Daudsjah and Sri Aksana Sjuman, Indra Lesmana (Reborn & Rumah Ketujuh Big Band), Jamie Aditya, Gerald Albright, Lenny Castro, Peter Scherr, Masako Hamamura, John Stowell, Hideaki Tokunaga, Paul Roth, Joe Beaty, Haggai Cohen Milo and many more with different types of music from jazz to rock and roll.

And he also performed in various jazz festival.(Bali Jazz, Nusa Dua Jazz, Indonesia Open Jazz, Java Jazz, Malacca Strait Jazz Festival, Taichung Jazz Festival and many more)

In 2005, he attended the 15th Annual International Association of School of Jazz (IASJ) in Krakow, Poland hosted by Krakow School of Jazz Contemporary Music from July 3 - 9,2005. And recorded a live concert CD at Radio Krakow issued by IASJ as a private collection.
