Yorkie, the original song is in French, Adolph Adam was French. Griping about a song being sung in its original language has no sense. As for theother gripers, you are obviously too accustomed to Nat King Cole, John Denver, whatever. This version captures the expanse of the song.

Il est hautement fascinant de voir le travail gestuel de Mme DiDonato. On connait la voix merveilleuse mais cette façon de prééparer les phrasées à l'aide des gestes nous en dit long sur sa technique. Un chant incomparable.
