George said he changed this scene so as to not have Han Solo look like he shot Greedo in cold blood. The first time I saw EIV, when I was five, I remember thinking this scene was a derivation of a standoff between two cowboys at high noon in the center of town and the fastest draw wins.

I met Bill Smitrovich a little over a week ago here in Denver and he said they would know in a couple of weeks if THE EVENT got picked up by another network, Netflix, etc. I told him I hate his character, Jarvis and he said, "Thanks, everyone does".
