The Kenyan BC bears the signatures of both the attending doctor and the supervisor of obstetrics at the time of birth and also that of the chief hospital administrator, who certified the copy of the BC obtained by Mr. Smith.
A legal affidavit attesting to the document's authenticity was signed by Mr. Smith and was submitted to Federal Judge David O. Carter in September 2009 in support of a court case.

The Official Report of the Kenya Parliament for March 25, 2010 contains the following statement on page 31 by James Orengo, Minister of Lands for the Coalition Government.
"If America was living in a situation where they feared ethnicity and did not see itself as a multiparty state or nation, how could a young man born here in Kenya, who is not even a native American, become the President of America?"
