About this user
I believe in something, one may call peace, and I try to find practical ways of having some form of it and making it accessible wherever and whenever possible...
I am currently working in the Disarmament, Demobilization & Reintegration (DDR) field as the communications officer for the Multi-Country Demobilization and Reintegration Program(MDRP). Before taking this assignment, I was with the Global Development Learning Network (GDLN) at the World Bank Institute. Prior to joining GDLN, I worked for the African Virtual University, headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya.
I have worked and volunteered for several organizations within the international realm, including the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Human Rights Watch, European-American Business Council, Oxfam America and World Business. While being a consultant to the Africa Policy Initiative at the Carnegie Endowment, I founded the Mauritius Peace Initiative.
I studied theology and political science at Boston College, in the US. During a semester-abroad program I further studied international relations at the Institut d'Etudes Politiques of Strasbourg, France. In addition to participating in the U.S. Army R.O.T.C. as a cadet officer, I received training in conflict resolution and applied international studies at the Caux Scholars Program in Switzerland.
More recently I have been focusing on DDR.
That's about it... for now :-)
