100 year old music and dance school in the heart of the Downtown Brooklyn Cultural District. Dance classes for ages 3-19; Private Music Lessons ages 6-adult.
Home of "A Brooklyn Nutcracker", now in its second decade!
Brooklyn Music School's mission is to provide high quality music and dance instruction without regard to background, income, age, previous experience or career aspirations. Students have gone on to music conservatories and dance companies as well as law and medical schools.
Renowned mezzo sopranos Tatiana Troyanos and Risé Stevens studied and began their careers here. BMS and the Brooklyn Music School Playhouse were also the home of the Little Theatre Opera company in the 1920s. Jazz singer Betty Carter (who lived across the street) studied cello as an adult.
BMS is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. All contributions are tax-deductible. You can also donate via the web at www.NYCharities.org
