@2011Kirat go for the 5100. it brings a much better sensor (the same used in the more expensive d7000). it allows ou to shoot higher iso without worrying too much about noise. I have found that pictures taken up to 3200 produce really good results. forget the d5000 even if you are ronly intereste...

i´M really interested in sigma 17-50 os, but i´ve heard many people mentioning how sigma lenses usually focus at wrong places (i mean before or after the subjetc) can you please tellme something about it?

@dbarberad yeah you are right, but then when it comes to REM songs how can anyone be wrong?

@sladoled1996 go for the D5100. this 18-105 presents basically the same sharpeness as the the 18-55. I had both. now i have the 35 1.8 (wonderfuland cheap lens) and sigma 17-50 2.8 (much better in terms of sharpeness and also wonerful aperture)

Jared, what about the quality of the image? have been using the d3100 and it looks really soft (at least with the kit lens). even my raw files, after editing and adding sharpeness to level 5, they still look soft. when i see them on the screen it looks fine but whent i print them, it is reaaaaly ...

Ok, Jared. got your point but the question is: shooting in raw, having all those steps to edit the picture and then convertiing it to jpeg to be printed. wouldn´t that copy look exactly like the one originaly taken in jpeg? what is the point in avoid jepg files if in the end you have to convert ...

forget about zoom and buy a35 (or 50) 1.8. much better lenses and pretty cheap.
