Good stuff; we use a similar device for putting out method balls as groundbait near our hookbaits.

One thing I noticed is how quick you bring them in instead of playing them. Is this because of all the bass fishing you do? It seems most bass fishermen like to 'ski' their fish to the boat instead of fighting them.

We Americans are amoung the most wasteful of people. Convenience seems to drive our lives.

You can eat them, but they have many small bones. They were originally brought over to the US to be food fish.

I hope you can find ways to angle for them, using bread, corn, etc. instead of snagging them...

Two suggestions:

1) Add salt; at least a tablespoon per pound of bait.

2) Mix the flavor with the creamed corn before pouring it in. Why mix twice? ;-)

That's a smallmouth buffalo, not a carp. It is a native fish in the US and is in the sucker family whereas carp are in the minnow family. Totally different species.

Buffalo do not mess up the water and are not 'trash' fish. Please try to outgrow that attitude.

This is a great know when done properly, for all materials. Fluoro, braid, and mono all work well with this knot. You do need to take your time and do it properly, though, but a well-tied knot is worth the time!

Spoonbill, yes. Catfish, no. Totally different species.

The european strains are carp are a bit different from the N.American strains, even though the NA carp came from there originally. NA carp are more slender and fight harder.
