About Me:
Normans are French because of simple reasons:
Normans are the people of Normandy, but the majority of them were Franks and gauls (like other French).
Vikings that settled were a minority, and immediatly mixed with locals, adopting chritianity and speaking Old French language
Normandy was a duchy, vassal of the King of France, meaning they were dependant and linked to the Kingdom of France, and belonged to it
Currently, it is estimated (by english specialists) that 1/3 of english words are coming directly from the French.
The 2 mottos of the UK are in French, to remind them their French heritage
