Too many conductors interpret this at FAR too fast a tempo. It's a dance! This is one of the most accurate representations of Bernstein's desired tempo for the piece. I say this as a conductor myself.

This is hauntingly beautiful! Such a voice, rich in tone and yet sung with such soulful subtly soto voce when called for. Bernstein's finest work along with the Chichester Psalms. I can hear this a million times and always hear something different.

Kuhlmann's voice is far better than Teresa Stratus.....and I love Stratus! But this is SUPERIOR to the television version aired in the 70's.
