A primary school student at Phnom Penhs French school, Lycée Descartes, bosbaPANH was born in 1997 to a traditional Cambodian family and has two brothers, Sibxy Na Panh, dancer aged 18 and Panhlauv, flutist, clarinettist and drummer age 9. La Compagnie bosbaPANH was formed in September 2005 when she was just 8 years old. The band released its first album Phnom Penh in June 2006. The musical style of the band is Phleng Cheewit or Songs for Life from Cambodia, Laos and Thailand, as well as an international repertoire. Her second CD SrorMay Dream was released in December 2007 and the DVD of her 2007 concert was launched in June 2009. Her third CD "La vie en Rose" was released on October 2009. Now available is the DVD of her concert "Neak me, our mothers".
bosbaPANH is accompanied by a semi-classical orchestra of 10 musicians, all professors or students from the Royal University of Fine Arts, who play traditional songs in a contemporary style. bosbaPANH and her band La Compagnie bosbaPANH aim to revive the type of concerts directed by young Prince Sihanouk in the early 1960s, as well as the glamorous style of Sin Sisamouth, widely known as the Khmer Golden Voice. Above all, bosbaPANH and her musicians want to promote the music and culture of Cambodia.
