In this week's episode, Matt discusses how prayer fits in the life of a new covenant believer! Jesus said, "It is Finished"! This applied to the fullness of God's kingdom already being released! This may be a shock to many prayer warriors and intercessors who have been taught that we are bringing the kingdom to earth. Jesus proclaimed that the kingdom has already been established here, in fact that IS the gospel!
Many well meaning believers may need to take a step back from the religious and ritualistic prayers that have even become a common part of the Spirit-filled churches. Begin to let His finished work run full course through your activity, and prayer life. Realize the place of His rest!
But, then you can come to an altogether NEW place of prayer! A place where you only pray as you are moved by the Spirit, as one possessed by Jesus! A place where you only do what your heart desires! Your prayer becomes a light, joyful interaction and expression of your union. Your decrees are from the place of authority and victory, and will ALWAYS be answered with a yes! No more repetitive begging, no more striving or contending!
Matt. 6:7 "And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words.
1 Thess. 5:16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
