I don't necessarily agree with killing the eel for demonstrative purposes either, yet, it's death was far fairer & quicker than the foods/animal products we use today, fish, meats, by products, etc.

It's a book for crying out loud!!!! (it also says you should "stone" your errant children...get busy folks!!!) No picking and choosing - it's an all or nothing kind of deal - you can't be cafeteria christians and be taken seriously.
