I thought that I, after seeing some comments left on my videos, would put some info up on my channel page so that people could have a better understanding of what my vids are all about.

The videos that I have made thus far are promotions for two websites; Radical Rag (my website), and The Age of Kali Collective (which is run by Giriraj Gopal Das of San Francisco).

The Radical Rag's motto is 'We Won't Hate You For Eating Meat If You Won't Hate Us For Telling You Why We Don't'. We're not an activist group, but an online forum/community/zine that caters to vegetarians (and to some extent younger vegetarians) who don't like the militant actions that some other groups take. Most of the videos for the Radical Rag are supposed to be extreme to the point of humour... if you can't laugh at the little girl smiling in glee as her father cuts open a cow in 'What's For Dinner?', then you've lost the point of the video and you're taking it too seriously. The ultimate goal isn't for the Radical Rag videos to be viewed on YouTube (althought if people enjoy them that is great), but moreso for the use of Radical Rag members on their personal sites.

So, though I don't agree with it, if you enjoy your meat then by all means, just ignore the moral of the Radical Rag videos... but it can't be denied that you are eating carcass :).

The Age of Kali Collective is a Krsna Consciousness e-zine/website ran by Giriraj Gopal Das of San Diego. I am a big fan of his site so I started making short promo videos for him. The videos that I have produced for him, up to this point, may seem sort of dire to someone who doesn't subsequently click into his site. It might even seem that the goal of the videos is to promote some apocolypse theory, but indeed it is extremely diametric to that. '427,000 To Go' is not a scare tactic that imposes that you should be afraid of your impending doom. Rather, as devotees of Krsna, we believe in reincarnation as cyclic existence... meaning the continuous cycle of birth, life, sickness, death. We also believe that through re-establishing a devoted friendship with Shri Krishna we can escape that cycle. According to the Vedas, we are 5,000 years into this final age, Kali-Yuga, and thus 427,000 is the time left of this age. Devotees of Krsna DO NOT want to hang out that long, so to speak.

I completely understand that some people have the viewpoint that this existence on earth is awesome and so on. I respect that viewpoint. Within the Krsna Conscious movement, however, it is viewed as both a blessing and a hinderance. A blessing in the sense that if we are given a human body we have the ability to rekindle our devotion to Krsna... a hinderance in the fact that there are a lot of material illusions that can distract us from the goal of rekindling that devotion.

Thus, as you can see, the ultimate goal is to reunite with Krsna, thus escaping cyclic existence.

I know that all of this might sound odd, and I understand if you don't agree with it. That is the great thing about beliefs, no one has to have the same sets.
