This is my second attempt at creating a tribute to the Angry Video Game Nerd and this version gets a lot closer to my idea of a proper Death Metal cover of the AVGN theme song.
If you want to download the song, please head to "myspace.com/thescreamingmonkeyproject" and grab it from the playlist.
Concerning the video: I was out of ideas and too lazy to tape stuff... sorry :)
Concerning the song: Still lots of rough edges here and there but it's the best (worst?) I can do at the moment. My guitar play has improved a tiny little bit but it's still a bumpy ride. Putting together the drum track and the final mixing process remain booby traps too... The bass track is hiding somewhere between the low B guitar tuning and the kick drum :)
Gear used:
Guitar: ESP LTD M-50 (Tuning: BEADF#B) Bass (inaudible...): Yamaha RBX-370 (Tuning: BEAD) Drums: Computer (EZDrummer) Mic: Shure SM58 Amp software: Guitar Rig 3 Audio interface: Line 6 Toneport UX1 Audio software: Cubase Essential 4
Thanks for reading! (And watching the video of course)
Cheers!

This is an attempt to pay tribute to the Angry Video Game Nerd and to recreate my vision of a Death Metal cover (which is far from perfect!) of the AVGN theme song.
First of all: Thank you James Rolfe for creating the Angry Video Game Nerd! (And of course Kyle Justin, the author of the catchy theme song!)
Concerning the video: The idea to record the song and to make a video was spontaneous. It was a boring afternoon and what you see is the result of a couple of hours recording the instruments, hastily putting together the drums and recording/editing the video footage (there was no script, just random silly scenes). PS: Windows Movie Maker sucks ASS!!
Concerning guitar play: Bloody beginner! Please cut me some slack :)
Concerning guitar tone: I'm still looking for the right brutal tone. Tweaking and experimenting takes a lot of time, so I just grabbed one of the preset tones.
Concerning vocals: Due to the neighbouring apartments, I actually had to hold back a little on the growls and screams (especially the higher pitched ones). I gotta find a place other than my living room where I can scream my bloody lungs out :)
Gear used:
Guitar: ESP LTD M-50 Bass: Yamaha RBX-370 Drums: EZDrummer Mic: Shure SM58 Amp software: Guitar Rig 3 Audio interface: Line 6 Toneport UX1 Audio software: Cubase Essential 4 Beer: Rothaus Tannenzäpfle
Cheers!

It was a boring evening in 2003 and I thought that it would be awesome if beer would get out of the fridge, climb the stairs and come to my room by itself :)
That was the point when I got the idea to make this short experimental stop-motion video. The filming and editing process took about 1-2 hours, without any experience in the domains of movie making or the use of stop motion techniques. Nonetheless I think it turned out pretty okay :)
The music in the video is an older luxembourgish song about beer. It was part of the Diekirch advertising campaign a long time ago (10 or 15 years or so, maybe even more. I can't remember exactly)
