Lol, Nails and screws have different properties. Nails have great shear resistance and won't snap. Screws obviously have a greater pullout resistance but are generally brittle with little shear resistance. Different tools for different jobs, not better or worse.

The bolted beam connection is not a preferred method of supporting a beam. But it is NOT illegal or even necessarily wrong. The allowed load on this type of beam is reduced. But if you'll notice it's only spanning about 4 feet. So it's is most likely a perfectly acceptable beam for that deck....

It's not that simple. It is completely legal to keep the aluminum wiring which exists in so many homes. It is illegal to be installed in new construction.

You can hook up copper to aluminum, but it takes care and specific connectors.
