"Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" was first introduced by Judy Garland in the 1944 MGM musical Meet me In St Louis. Frank Sinatra later recorded a version with modified lyrics, which has become more common than the original. The song was written by Hugh Martin and Ralph Blane.. Engelbert recorded the song for his 1980 LP A Marry Christmas with Engelbert Humperdinck for the CBS/Epic Label with excellent arrangement by Jimmy Haskell and produced by Joel Diamond. One of the most recorded Christmas songs, of which Engelbert makes it unique interpretation, making it my favorite one. Sinatra recorded two beautiful versions of this song while at Capitol Records. Posted here is the 1956 Nelson Riddle arranged and conducted recording. You'll also find on my channel the recording he made in 1961 with Axel Stordahl. However, this version is my favorite. To me, Sinatra's 1950s voice was the best--especially with songs arranged by the mastery of Nelson Riddle...
