Bo Amir Iqram
Music Producer / Singer-songwriter / DJ
The generously hair-styled Amir Iqram a.k.a. Bo discovered his passion for music when he picked up his first guitar at the age of 10. At the age of 15, he formed a jazz-rock band, Seven, which is still active today. After discovering sequencing programs such as Logic Pro, Fruity Loops and Reason, which gave him the freedom to compose and produce his own electronic, house, neo-soul and experimental music, in 2006, he met up with DJ Veteran, Joey G at a party and they formed a duo named, CosmicSpaceMunkys. They played shows around KL before they competed in the Heineken Thirst Studio where they emerged as champions. The band was then invited to travel to Eastcote Studios, London to attend an exclusive masterclass conducted by an international music producer, Paul Epworth, produced bands like, Bloc Party, Babyshambles, Arctic Monkeys and so on. After picking up the professional tricks of the producing trade, they were offered the once-in-a lifetime oppourtunity to compete, perform and represent Malaysia at Thirst Studio Finals at Tao Club, Venetian Hotel, Las Vegas in May 2007. In Vegas, CosmicSpaceMunkys shared the bill with Gym Class Heroes, Kanye West, Steve Aoki and a few more international acts. The success of the band still goes on. 2009 will be something big for the two. Not one to rest on his laurels after a busy year, Bo found time to pursue other projects such as Seven (Jazz Rock), Deserters (Indie Rock), Bedroom Sanctuary (Acoustic / Folk) and Grandeur Of Decibel aka Mr. Fluff (Electro / House / Indie Dance). A regular on the local live circuit, Bo has performed with his bands at The Laundry Bar, No Black Tie and Zouk KL among others. Regionally, Bo has also played at prestigious music festivals such as Zoukout Singapore and Mosaic Music Festival, also held in Singapore. With the experience that he has gained, Bo has now defined his own style and sound. 2008 looks to be a busy year for him with three albums from his various music projects scheduled for release. When hes not busy with his bands, Bo worked as a Music Producer / Composer at Two AM Music Studios and has several TV Commercials, both local and international with his original music on them such as Perodua, Nestle, Honda, Buick, Coca Cola and more. He is now working with Capital FM's Turn It Up crew, DJ Joey G and Gabriel, sound engineering the show and composing and producing radio jingles also Bo is slated to conduct and lecture a Music Production Master Class and workshops at Soundbox Studios. With all of the experiences and places his music has brought him, Bo knows he wants to be on the international level. Come 2009, Bo has launched his solo album, Gemini under the moniker Bedroom Sanctuary and also he will be releasing his own House / Electro tracks under international labels such as, Flesh Recordings of Berlin, Ambasada Records of UK, Tonic! Records, 220V Digital Recordings & several more international labels as Mr Fluff. He also has his mixes on international radio shows such as :
Radio Klub of France, Bash FM, Quintessenz, Night-Dj of Germany, Alpha radio Varna & Bulgaria of Bulgaria, Vox-T-Radio (RU), Ruanchy Rhythms (UK), Ibiza Global Radio, Culture Music Show en Formula Hit Almeria, Loca FM La Coruña, Formula Hit Galicia, Radio One Valencia, Fun FM Alicante y Murcia, Espiral FM Castellón (ES), Dance Radio (GR).
In May 2009, Bo took part in the Choons Awards producer competition under the moniker, Mr. Fluff and took the title Producer of the Year with his track entitled Caution! and with this, Bo plans to produce a House / Electro album by 2010.
