David Allen Coe made that song famous but Steve Goodman wrote the song. Steve was from Chicago and he also wrote the City of New Orleans.

@johnnieknown If you are talking about the Telecaster player in the back I am about 95% that it is not Vince Gill. I am also about 50% that it is a man named Brent Mason.

is it just me or does Bob look like townes did in about the same time frame? I think this took place in the early 90's and it is uncanny how much they looked alike at least to my memory. I do not know how to find a picture of townes that I could date.

Age got Waylon long before this point. His sugar problems had left him almost unable to sing or play. I love to see him but if he would have had this song in the early 80's he would have made a huge hit on it. Great group of pickers and singers on that stage. I really like all of them.

Hank does a very good job on this song but when Toy was a young man this song was at its very best. This song is so good that everyone who does it does a great job.
