1st offf, Elton didn't write the lyrics. His writing partner Bernie T wrote them. The influence for the song is a KGB agent named Natasha Ivanova. She was his tour manager when he performed in the Soviet Union in 1979. You can see her in his DVD, "From Russia, With Elton".
