BLUE LAMP MUSIC is an Independent Record Label launched in September 2006. Currently we have re-released two records, Joint Efforts "Music In The Mirror" and Bobby Zee & Zoe's "There's A Reason".
Way back in the late 1970's there was a San Diego based, five-piece, high energy rock/pop band called Joint Effort. They were well known locally and toured all over California and the Pacific Northwest. In 1980 they recorded and released an album on vinyl called "What We Give". It became the same sad story that happened to most of the bands in the music industry. Big broken promises, big talk (all lies) and you have to sign all your rights away in blood somewhere after all the fine print on the 30 page recording contract.
The contract has now expired and the music and ownership of the master recordings have reverted back to the band members! Now one of the band members owns an independent record label and was able to track down the original master recordings, digitally re-master them and convert them to CD format.
Joint Effort performed to sold-out crowds packed full of screaming fans and had a blast doing it! Their fresh energetic original sound is what landed them a record deal back in 1980. One of the great things about music is that it never dies. Their sound is still as fresh and exciting as the day it was recorded.
Retro is coming back! There is a whole retro movement going on and historically, as every generation matures, what was once new becomes new once again. The brand new oldies, along with the original audience, comes a whole new generation to appreciate the music we all loved when we were kids.
Blue Lamp Music is moving fast forward. Along with our retro music, we are currently working with a young new rapper, Rhymus.
Here at Blue Lamp Music we love our mascot, Gandalf. We are devoting some time to making songs and videos with Gandalf as the star. We know there are other dog lovers out there who enjoy watching our best buddies have fun as much as we do. Keep checking back to see what Gandalf is up to.
