But the music was great

underrated. tight lyrics and upbeat tunes. Really well-structured songs at a time when only a few seem in full command of the craft: and just the right combination of irony, cynicism and optimistic sunniness. I love this guy.

Everything worked for me except Butch and Sundance, Don Corleone and Lawrence of Arabia. Even the footage from Giant seemed a little too contemporary. The rest of it had a great sardonic tone to it that I really loved.
