About identity unknown...
QUOTE FOR YOUTUBER: "Don't assume what you dont know ... and from each other you will learn something."
TO ALL THE HMONGS: Dont forget why you are here, dont forget your past, history & your People. It's who you are, your roots. (And wear traditional clothes to the new year, if you got the money to buy so much american clothes, why not save some to buy some traditional hmong clothes...& for a couple days out each year, you'll stand out of the Asian American community as "Hmong". Without culture, roots, traditions, etc...you're just another person. You're born into one of the most culture rich group of people, dont waste it, dont take it for granted. We must all do our part to keep it alive, like our ancestors before us. )
Better your people, tradition, cultures, txuj ci before any others, why bc if u loved your people and know your history, you will understand. If you dont do it, who will? If you better someone elses talent, you will not get the credit, if you better your peoples talent, you and your people will benefit from it. I see so many talented people, dont waste it.
What makes hmong/miao people beautiful is their deep cultures, traditions, launguage, diversity, ancient history, and hospitality. Everything thats make us Hmong/miao make us beautiful.
R.I.P.
Uncle Grandpa Xia Chou Thor (May 17, 2010)
My Dear Grandpa Neng Thor Xiong (October 23, 2010)
RIP General Vang Pao (January 6, 2011)
Love your elders...they lived through an important history, their love for their people and culture are greater than the young people nowadays. I feel like with the pasting of every elder our past & purpose & our people & culture are going with them, bc it seems like their purpose are not the younger generations purpose. iono.
I am sadden and mad by the thought of all the killing and hatred of hmong people...and now hmong are used as tourist attractions, yes it help them financially, but that is no excuse to be used as tourist attractions by the country they live in, which use to either kill or have hated them...There are so many other ways people can help these people, like example: ayouduo 'showing the world her own ethnicity and culture and traditions'......Now these other country's love hmong clothing, silvers, etc. and tries to make copies of them and add it to their own clothes...maybe im just too mad at the moment but i am not very happy about what i am seeing. Hmong people should be taught to make their goods for sell, so I WONT have to buy it 'manufatured' by some other people who are making money off of what my people created! So technically some of these countries are not helping us Hmong!...So dont claim you're helping Hmong ppl or other poor ethnic groups when your killing them or their culture=existance off the face of earth...........i went a bit over the top but you guys get the point. =_=
The hmong language and all languages are beautiful... the hmong language: the poems can be romantic but the basics are very sad. With the history we have our language has devevolped into a very sad language or maybe its the way we say it, which we use every day now. So much have been lost...we know only the very basic of our language.....i feel like theres so much lost through time...even the elders never knew about it..... the feeling of this lost and not having accomplished enough through all our struggles & not only our language lost but our people in the process of conserving our identity and language. ...can really bring tears to your eyes..... so think about it? who you are? what you're gonna make of yourself in this world? what difference you can make ..... starting with your family .... one thing ive learned is... "ones life is delicate and fragile, someone can be there today and gone tomorrow...but forever left their mark in your heart and without them .... how that mark starts to ache...."
Fighting in the vietnam war ... some people say hmong people were stupid to follow a traitor like vang pao. I've heard both sides...but ive also heard about how hmong fell behide bc of greed, killing to be on top...I am not impressed by those who dislike him, everyone has there reasons. How about we use "hmong sib hlub hmong" instead of blaming this and that, ok...
I have all respect for General Vangpao, bc i know that some hmong people love to spread faults rumor about someone when they are doing well.
Lately I've been learning more and more about hmong people our Txiv yawg or to chinese known as the "god of war" Chiyou....and to the koreans, was their 19th emperor of baegal, Chi woo...
Im still uncertain but i am deeply happy to know my roots, and it was something i am really proud to be a part of... I have never been so proud, and yet sad from the recent death of my grandpa...may he find his way to our homeland and ancestor. My grandpa was born 1928 pem lub zos ntawv qab rob xamleeb

I never knew how beautiful hmong people were until I looked at us from an outside view, we werent weird, we were culture rich, we were part of something bigger & wonderful, i am proud! So many people HAVE put us down, as stubborn etc, but when I look at us all, i dont see a stubborn group of people, I see a people of great pride, didginity and values.Yes, we have a lot of pride and we were hard to change, but is that really bad? I dont think so, bc of this pride we are the group of people wih the longest known history in china...when i see a smile and an elderly men buried in his hmong clothes...Its obvious they fought long & hard. Why is it that our ancestor fought so long for...its who we are, we are beautiful...In america, the culture teaches you to look at everything non-amercian as weird, but without that view you will see it beauty.
Hmong people are stupid bc we were being killed everywhere we go? Some people think this just based on being killed on procecuted throughout history... Hmong were just weakened.....Its not like the Hans can keep a culture, its not like the vietnamese didnt worship the chinese "whatever chinese was"... as if you guys werent stupid too.... as if the Hans werent ashamed of their real religion and abandoned it for thousands of years bc they were ashamed of it ....Hmong are alwase being killed at least we admit it....bc we did stood up to the Hans (for equailty long before the americans) and only did we lose the 10th battle... & was feared and keeped apart and poor to never raise up against them again (parents told me they assimulated the woman into other ethnic groups and tried to kill off all of the hmong men, so there will be not seeds left)(what does that say about how wonderful they are)...Based on the negative things others say about hmong people and other small ethnicities, we can say just as much about you... everyone has their greatness, but if you cant accept the fact that someone was once greater and decide to bash on them, then you're really stupid, you probably dont know your own root failures and the little stuff your people are in denial about.
To this day we are still able to keep our religion ... they may have erased us from History books but we have survived as a separate ethnicity to this day. We may have a history of being killed but along side that is also a history of trying to be erased and assimulated into other races, were you one of those? ... There are many stories of why we dont have a written language, etc anymore. Stories of running and secretly hiding the lauguage, but people try so hard to destroy it, dont they ?(hmong history ask about it) ...
And I am proud of my people...they are beautiful...to this day we have persevered a beautiful group of people, culture, customs, tradtions, religions. And im sure there are still people who wants to destroy or take it...people tell us we are lucky...we have a history, culture, etc, unique to us... that some ethnicies were not able to save and preserve and they now watch us in the distance and wonder about what they lost and who they are. Culture Shows!
I AM A PROUD SHAMAN. I choose to stay close to my ancestors... I've had scary & sad but happy experiences...Bc in shamanism our two world are shared as one. Like my grandma once told me: Day time is our time, night time is their time...and usually at dawn & night fall, when the two worlds change, is when your can see them....and ive personally experienced this myself. All should understand that there are the scary & harmful, but then there are also the kind & harmless. Every religion has it bads and goods...so i choose to stay closer to my own...and of course like most people I do believe in a superior being. I do hope nothing forces me to sadly have to leave my religion, like most people I know......when i pass, i wish to follow the path my ancestors took to their resting place, and to see my family and no other....:)
The more you learn about your religions and beliefs the more you will learn to appreciate and value it, for it is probably one of many dying religions in America.
And come on! Quit trying to convert hmong people, and you know who you are! ... Ever since ancient times, from thailand to Laos you've been trying to convert Hmong people and other. And now that the miao(hmong chinese) has finally been exposed to the outside world, you're all gonna run over to chinese and convert(save) them... All I can say is that, You have no respect for others: killing off an anicent, beautiful, unique, misunderstood religion for the sake of your own!" HMP this is how i feel towards you missionarys and who ever else!
-thanks for reading, i hope this makes everyone out there as proud of where they came from & and who they are as me or just get to know how i think & to be open-minded, appreciative, understanding, & encouraged to love, forgive, and make better....hopefully i did not offend anyone. :)
