Though I am within this world, a woman all alone,
With no man to light my days, I sojourn on my own,
I've a lover true who holds my hand and dries my tears,
And when storm clouds gather, He alone does calm my fears,
I'm the Bride of Christ, I am engaged, and though I'm poor,
I know there's no earthly man, who'd ever give me more,
Than the never failing love, my Bridegroom has for me,
Love that lasts throughout my life, and all eternity,
When I'm feeling lonely, and all my sky's are gray,
Jesus, my companion, comes to me if I just pray,
And I oft anticipate, quite anxious for the night ,
When my loving Savior, will come for me dressed in white,
On His gallant steed, and we'll go to His Kingdom grand,
Where the shadows lurk no more, and i shall dwell as planned,
In His castle made of gold, where sorrow lives no more,
Happy ever after there I'll be, on God's bright shore,
And the loneliness that sometimes haunts me down below,
Shall be evermore erased, and ever more I'll know,
What it means to be God's Bride, and always by Him led,
I'm betrothed, and I can't wait, for soon I will be wed!
