I've always found riflemen to be good defenders thanks to their range. They can be used as makeshift snipers and also have the makings for traps when placed in windows.

I think I have micro-managing OCD. I give my infantry awesome weapons from destryoed tanks and give them new helmets when they loose theirs. Not to mention I use infantry, mortors and light tanks more than anything else.
