Mum of 3 beautiful girls. Started my weight loss journey in June 2008. Dieted on quite high calories of 2000 aday, then reduced to 1800 afew months later. Reduced it again after that all the way down to 1600 calories but have now put it up to 1700 because of increasing exercise, was! jogging. Pretty much eat whatever I want within my calorie limit.

Over a year this month (55 wks) I've so far lost over a 125 lbs (8st 11.lb) & wish to lose around 50+ lbs more. I've been watching so many weight loss video's to keep me motivated that I now felt inspired to try & record my own weight loss journey.

I had tried calorie shifting / cycling for a little while but have now returned to standard calorie counting. For the last 30 lbs I'm considering changing from calorie counting to GI, Low Carb or the hCG Protocol diets. As these are the hardest pounds to lose and I'm interested to see if there really is an appetite control and a body contouring that the latter diet is said to offer.

Though I still have more than 30 lbs to lose I have recently changed my diet from calorie counting to the Low Carb (ketogenic) VLCD called the hCG Protocol. I'm almost 3 in weeks of it's VLCD & have so far lost 17 lbs.

I'm already getting bored with the restrictions in food choices though. So have decided that as long as I get no less than 40g of high quality COMPLETE protein & no more than 60g of net carbs (to stay in ketosis), try to stay above 10g fibre, keep under 25g of fat & stay within 500 - 600 calories, then I'm gonna eat whatever I want more or less.

Mostly I find myself drinking lots & lots of hot herbal tea's with artificial sweeteners between meals.

Also taking Supplements: Multi-vitamin & minerals, & Potassium, Magnesium, Calcium, Vitamin B-Complex & Omega 3 fish Oil. Plus for fibre Konjac/Konnyaku Flour which has 0 calories & is good for making sauces with the juices from your cooked meats or fish, soups, jello, smoothies or desserts with your fruit & veg allowance.

After gaining 20 lbs! in a month!! from changing my diet, I have returned back to what works for me best, Calorie Counting!!!
