Actually Trent Reznor Of NIN wrote this; I seen an interview with Reznor who said " even though I wrote it, After hearing Johnny Cashs' version , I can not imagine it being anyboby elses song." Rick Rubin a friend of Reznor's suggested the song to Johnny and produced it.

and in his intro he alternates G and C instead of alternating G and G/C.
