About BLAZMUSIC
The Dutch based electro-dance duo BLAZ is the result of a chance meeting between vocalist La Trec and saxophonist Marco Hijl. When La Trec openly declared she detested the saxophone, Marco proved the singer's strong dislike to be a passing notion. With both having roots in soul, funk & jazz, the duo realized there was chemistry in the making. When they teamed up in the studio, it became apparent that their shared enthusiasm for electro-dance would spark a new kind of collaboration.

When they teamed up in the studio, it became apparent that their shared enthusiasm for electro-dance would spark a new kind of collaboration. The American born singer La Trec is no stranger to the European dance scene, scoring the number one hit "Stay" with German dj Sash (in '97) paved the way to perform on international festivals and clubs. Saxophonist Marco Hijl has performed with a multitude of musicians in many mainstream venues around Europe.
Together with a complete band the duo forms an electro-dance pop act, with a touch of soul and techno. The musical influences of BLAZ are as diverse as the duo themselves, which varies from Rihanna, Basement Jaxx to the likes of Prince & Groove Armada.
The compositions from La Trec & Hijl are melodically strong, accessible & versatile. Live on stage BLAZ serves up a cocktail of high energy electro-dance and spontaneous jams that fans won't forget.
