I grew up during a time of racial tension. Black Panthers fighting with the police at the drop of a hat.
My teen years was during the beginning of the "hyphen" era. You know the years of identification, African- American, Afro- American,
White- American...
My friends had nicknames like Duck,Tomboy,Mike-Mike,Frog,Coc
During that African Pride era, I wore the dashiki with the Afro bush hair style. Even had the comb with clinched fist on it.
As my friends started dying off on the mean street or maturing and moving away.I joined the Marine Corps.Yes My government call me
a DOMESTIC TERRORIST NOW.
My friends were and still are Puerto Rican,Hondouran,Samoan,Texan and Italian from New (Yawk) York.
Yes we all were Hyphened...
During one of my tours I met a group of African students who lived near the Navy Base and I attempted to bond and learn from them.
I was asked what part of Africa was my relatives from, what language did they speak, what were their African names...
I answered all in three words I DON'T KNOW.
In turn I was told by true Africans that I was not African, I WAS AMERICAN!!!
That disappointment turned into a new passion and craving for knowledge.
The African pride turned into true love and passion for America! I am not a member of the hyphen society.
I AM AN AMERICAN!!!
If anyone attempts to tell me different or make me believe otherwise, I will hurt your feelings with no remorse.

A few years ago I was called crazy, a white man with dark skin, and Negro-Nazi. Those same name callers are singing a different tune now.
They are asking questions. I have to turn my phone off sometimes just to get rest. They are researching,
they are preparing and they are now piss*d off too.
So don't label Americans with dark skin as enemies until proven such. There are many that are awake. They have a love for this country and their freedom just like
anyone else. The only difference is THEY don't think we do, THEY don't think we are that smart, They don't think we have the balls.
That is the advantage we have...
