Counterparts really encompassed what Rush attempted to do with the previous two albums, Presto and Roll The Bones - get some meat back on their sound. This came out during the heights of grunge and, like Neil usually does, he encompasses it in this album. Leave That Thing Alone is possibly my f...

The fact that Neil was the one chosen for the Buddy Rich tribute band tells you his stature amongst the greatest of all time. Buddy Rich is the undisputable greatest ever, but Neil's dexterity shows here. Listening to his big band stuff, amazing.

@97nachotv which proves that it's not the drumset, but the man on the stool. Neil has progressively added to his percussion repertoire over the years, as his acumen has grown. Keep in mind that Fly By Night was their first album with Neil.

There's an error with this - Bart Starr was indeed a 17th round pick of the Packers in 1956, but Vince Lombardi had nothing with him being chosen then. Lombardi was still the offensive coordinator of the Giants at that time, and was not the head coach/general manager of the Packers until 1959.

@blaklodge agreed. I wouldn't say "suck", but probably my least favorite track from Number Of The Beast. I personally prefer Clive to Nicko, though Nicko's first effort in Peace Of Mind was tremendous.
