American Idol alumni and beat-boxing sensation Blake Lewis is set to release his second studio album, Heartbreak on Vinyl, on October 6th via Tommy Boy Entertainment, it was announced today. The albums first single, Sad Song, is scheduled to hit radio in July and will become available first to fans through an exclusive ringtone download via the Blake Lewis Official Fan Club.

"Heartbreak On Vinyl is the culmination of over 10 years in the dance scene - the music that gets me out onto the dance floor to lose my inhibition," said Lewis. "The title is an ode to all the record stores that have been closing down due to my industry eating itself. These are the stores that brought inspiration to all of us music lovers and have led me to make the music I create today. Heartbreak On Vinyl is filled with electro pop goodness, with melodies I cherish and that I hope my fans will sing to. It comes from the land of the broken hearted to help you mend lonely wounds."

Lewis is currently in the studio finishing his much anticipated second album which will include electronic/pop/dance production. He is working with a host of songwriters, producers and collaborators including S*A*M & Sluggo (Fall Out Boy, Panic at the Disco), Dave Audé (Pussycat Dolls), Rodney Jerkins (Lady Gaga, Britney Spears), and Jean Baptiste (Will.I.Am, Black Eyed Peas) on an album that promises to be fresh and full of surprises.

"Blake Lewis has the distinction of not only one of the most amazing voices I have ever worked with, but his songwriting and general musical ability on guitar, keys and as a human beatbox combined with his love of new technology and DJ culture makes him uniquely qualified as the rebel American Idol, said Tom Silverman, Founder and CEO of Tommy Boy Entertainment. Blake is the most well known Tommy Boy artist since James Brown. I cant walk down the street with him without stopping traffic - but most amazing is the songs he created for this album, the best of which he co-wrote in under 90 minutes and they are out-of-the-park home runs. Most recently, Lewis has been busy making appearances across the country. He joined the likes of Lady Gaga, Estelle, Katy Perry, Leona Lewis, Gavin Rossdale, and fellow American Idol alum Kelly Clarkson, on the T-mobile GRAMMY Celebration Concert Tour. He also performed for Michelle Obama at the Congressional Clubs First Ladys Luncheon where he even got the first lady, herself, to beat box.

Lewis made a name for himself as the unconventional and charming beat boxer who was selected as first runner up on season six of American Idol in 2007. His cover of Bon Jovis You Give Love a Bad Name, was the biggest selling download of the season on iTunes with over 190,000 downloads. His debut album Audio Day Dream hit the Billboard album charts at #10 and has since sold over 350,000 units to date. He created a unique persona for himself as not only a singer-songwriter, but DJ and beatboxer, drawing fans of all ages to his shows, which vary between musical performances and DJ sets.
